AB Dynamics Unveils GTC Remote Controller, Revolutionizing ADAS Testing Efficiency

Automotive test solution provider AB Dynamics has introduced the GTC Remote, a handheld controller designed for its GST and LaunchPad test platforms. This innovative device empowers test operators to manage single ADAS platforms without the need for a static base station, marking a significant leap in the efficiency of ADAS testing.

The GTC Remote is a game-changer in the realm of ADAS testing, streamlining operations and proving particularly beneficial for setting up VRU ADAS tests requiring a single target. Scenarios like CPFA (Car-to-Pedestrian Farside Adult), CPTA (Car-to-Pedestrian Turning Adult), and CPRA (Car-to-Pedestrian Reverse Adult) can now be executed with greater ease, reducing the reliance on hardware components and expediting the overall test setup process. This enhancement ensures that engineers and technicians can allocate more time to actual track testing.

Jack Hines, Project Engineer at AB Dynamics, highlighted the impact of the GTC Remote on simplifying ADAS testing, stating, “Although ADAS testing can be complex, many scenarios involve just a single ADAS target. Using our new GTC Remote helps technicians to set up these relatively simple scenarios much more quickly so that track time can be used for testing, rather than setting up equipment.”

The GTC Remote consolidates the elements of a standard static base station setup into a highly portable handheld unit, incorporating precise analogue stick controls, radio functionality, safety controls, and base station software. This portability, coupled with streamlined software workflows, significantly reduces the time required to initiate test scenarios.
Featuring a user-friendly design with an ergonomic and ruggedized weight-balanced housing, the GTC Remote boasts a 7-inch colour touchscreen, a robust processor, and a long-lasting battery, ensuring sufficient power for a full day of testing. The controller facilitates communication with ADAS platforms through interchangeable radios compatible with AB Dynamics’ existing radio options, including the latest TrackFi PowerMesh and other communication infrastructure.

Moreover, the GTC Remote is equipped with AB Dynamics’ safety system, incorporating fail-safe monitoring of communication. It has successfully undergone certification and approval processes for CE, FCC, and UKCA standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. This latest offering from AB Dynamics stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to advancing automotive testing technology.
