In a groundbreaking partnership, Allison Transmission has joined forces with Anadolu Isuzu to reveal their cutting-edge eGen Power e-Axle. Today, the automotive industry witnessed the introduction of the eGen Power 85S, the latest member of the fully electric axle family, in a collaboration that promises to redefine the electric vehicle landscape.

Tuğrul Arıkan, General Manager of Anadolu Isuzu, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We’re proud to partner with Allison to integrate the eGen Power 85S into the Novo VOLT to provide a new bus in our portfolio that will deliver zero emissions and reduce noise levels. We are very pleased with Allison’s ability to provide an e-Axle that meets the unique requirements of our midi bus platform and is easily integrated into the existing vehicle chassis.”

This collaboration between Allison and Anadolu Isuzu marks a significant milestone, as it marks the first time an eGen Power e-Axle has been seamlessly integrated into a midi bus application. This expansion of the fully electric axle family into a new market segment is set to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry.

The eGen Power 85S was purposefully developed to address the specific needs of midi bus and small truck applications, with a focus on achieving a lower 8.5T gross axle weight rating (GAWR), a narrower track width, smaller spindle, and a newly designed stamped axle housing, distinguishing it from existing eGen Power models.

Heidi Schutte, Allison Transmission Vice President EMEA, APAC & South America Sales, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, saying, “The introduction of the eGen Power 85S is the latest example of Allison’s commitment to expanding our propulsion solution portfolio to meet the demands of the wide range of applications and market segments we serve. Our family of e-Axles has been developed to support Allison’s customers as they develop electric vehicle capabilities and adopt technologies that will guide them into the future of the commercial vehicle industry.”

With the unveiling of the eGen Power 85S and its integration into the Isuzu Novo VOLT, Allison Transmission and Anadolu Isuzu have taken a significant step towards greener and more sustainable transportation solutions, setting a precedent for the future of electric vehicles in the commercial sector.
